Many legacy data centres built in the 80's and 90's are not capable of handling high density equipment. However major trends toward blade server hosting and virtualised environments are making this requirement a necessity.
Maxnet has future-proofed itself by deploying rack and cooling technology that can meet the demands of any server environment.
Maxnet's superior capability is due to its deployment of InRow™ cooling systems combined with Hot Aisle Containment technology. We are capable of cooling cabinets with a 30kW power draw - 10 times the capability of your typical legacy data centre.
The technology is highly efficient - it has a Co-efficiency of Proficiency (COP) of up to 14. By way of comparison, high wall air conditioning units typically used for cooling office hosted server environments have a COP of 2. In other words, for every 1 kW of power consumed by the cooling unit, it produces 2kW of cooling. Our system produces up to 14kW of cooling for every 1 kW inputted.
This efficiency gain is not just good business but also good for the environment. It is one of many Green IT initiatives being put in place by Maxnet to reduce the carbon footprint of Maxnet and its server hosted customers.
