finda – the New Zealand online business directory moves its mission critical servers into Maxnet’s high availability colocation environment.
In 2004 entrepreneur Shane Bradley saw the potential to take on the existing on-line business directories; www.finda.co.nz was born and a good business story was in the making. Within 2 years APN News and Media recognized the value of finda, joined their resources to the nimble technology company and apnfinda was formed through the merger of finda.co.nz, wises.co.nz and ubd.co.nz. In December 2007 the company formed a partnership with Google Maps further cementing its position as the local business directory market leader.
As a rapidly growing company apnfinda had to have its technology platform in an environment it could trust. With 700,000 users a month, the directory had to be available 24/7 and able to cope with peak traffic without delays. In 2007, the decision was made to move the servers into Maxnet’s High Availability Colocation environment.
