Configuring NT4 for dialup

These steps will take you through setting up your computer to dial to Maxnet on NT 4.

Step 1

• Open My Computer -> Dial-up Networking
• Click New

Step 2

• In Name the new Phone Entry type Maxnet
• Click Next

Step 3

• Tick I am calling the Internet
• Tick Send my plain text password...
• Untick The non-Windows NT server...
• Click Next

Step 4

• For the Phone number type 0867 00006
• Untick use telephony dialing properties

Step 5
You will be returned to the initial screen. Click More -> Edit entry and modem properties



Step 6
Click Configure beside your modem name



Step 7

• Make sure the Initial Speed (bps) is set to 115200
• Leave all other options Ticked
• Click OK

Step 8

• Click the Server tab
• Dial-up server type: PPP: Windows NT...
• Network Protocols: Only TCP/IP ticked
• Enable Software Compression: Ticked
• Enable PPP LCP extentions: Ticked

Step 9

• Click the Script tab
• None should be selected
• Click OK
