Email abuse and harassment
If you receive an unwelcome email message containing offensive material, you can report it to the offender's ISP. Most ISPs have an email address to send these to, such as abuse@maxnet.co.nz where you can send this report. Please use your mail program's 'forward' button to send a copy to the provider. This preserves the email's header file, which contains information the provider can use to track it back to the account it came from. In Outlook Express you can get the headers as follows: In your Outlook Express inbox please right click on the abusive message and click on Properties. Click on the Details tab and select everything (Ctrl+A). Copy that information (right click on it and select Copy) Paste (right click on it and select Paste) that information in another e-mail message. If you are unable to contact the ISP of the sender please forward the abusive email and the headers to abuse@maxnet.co.nz If you are being harrassed by receiving repeated unwanted or threatening email please contact Maxnet for assistance. Send an email with a brief history of the situation and copies of the harrassing email and their headers to: abuse@maxnet.co.nz
