What is a mailbox?
A mailbox is setup to receive any e-mail you get sent. These email can be downloaded to your computer for viewing,  or read online through Maxnet's webmail. A mailbox can can have a number of e-mail addresses attatched to it.

How do I setup a new mailbox?
Mailboxes can be setup through the Maxnet Members Centre: http://www.maxnet.co.nz/members 
Simply login using your username and access code, and under E-mail Control click on Add Mailbox.

What do POP and SMTP stand for?
POP: Post Office Protocol - used when receiving e-mail on your computer.
SMTP: Simple Mail Transfer Protocol - used to send e-mail from you computer.

Can I check my e-mail when overseas?
Yes. You can do this using Maxnet's Webmail - http://webmail.maxnet.co.nz/ - All you will need is your username and password and you will have instant access. NOTE: You will need to use a seperate connection to the Internet ie. A cyber cafe, friends connection or get setup with a new ISP overseas.
