Our People  

We have  50 staff working in our data centre and offices in Albany Auckland New Zealand.  We have an awesome crew who love serving their customers and working together to produce mission critical solutions for business.

Brett Herkt
CEO

Brett joined Maxnet in 2001 to take up the role of General Manager of Operations and Finance. In October 2003 he was promoted into his current leadership role with the company.

Brett is a qualified Chartered Accountant (B.Com, CA) with an entrepreneurial flair. His prior experience includes a variety of financial and management roles with International accountancy firm, Ernst & Young, the National Westminster Bank in London, a charitable community trust in Northland and starting, developing and selling his own accounting firm.

Brett's experience within the telecommunications industry spans some 8 years including providing assistance to Maxnet from its inception. He is a founding Director of the Internet Service Providers Association of New Zealand.

Kim Thibault
Chief Operating Officer

Kim  is a founder of Maxnet. Since Maxnet’s beginning in 1998, Kim has carried out a wide variety of roles including overseeing the development of Maxnet's software business systems, the NetGuardian content filtering service, and our wholesale ISP services. During this time Kim also found time to graduate with a MBA from the University of Auckland Business School. In early 2008 Kim took on the role of Operations Manager.  She is currently on the board of directors of ISPANZ .

Wayne Voss
Marketing & Product Manager

Wayne joined Maxnet in 2001 heading up its web development business prior to shifting across to the Maxnet sales team which he managed for 5 years. He has overseen rapid growth in company sales revenues, with Maxnet featuring twice in the Deloittes Fast50 company growth awards. He has also played a significant role in the company's strategic planning process, particularly its focus on the business sector and "mission critical" focus. In November 2008 he shifted over to his current marketing and product management role to focus on driving ahead Maxnet's marketing initatives and product strategies.

Previous roles have included internet marketing, business development consultancy and journalism, as well as management of a family business. Education includes Diplomas in Business (majoring in marketing) and Journalism.

Derek Gaeth
Chief Technical Officer

Derek  joined Maxnet in 2004 as Network Manager. From a strong engineering and technical background, Derek began his career as a Microsoft and Novel engineer before moving to the ISP industry in 1998. At Maxnet he has led the continuing development of the network and data centre infrastructure.

In 2008 Derek took on his current with oversight of Network Operations, Data Centre and company software systems.

Chris Bothma
Finance Manager

Paul McGarrigle
Customer Services Manager

Paul assumed the Customer Services Manager role in January 2008, bringing with him 10 years experience with call centres in the UK and NZ. Managing both in-house and outsourced environments, his experience includes supporting the setup of new contact centres through to the management of the High Value Call Centre at Vodafone. 

Paul's focus is on delivering a quality customer experience; first call resolution and creating customer centric processes.
