Power Supply500kVA_genset

Core to the operation of a carrier class Data Centre is the reliability of its power supply.

The systems required to keep the core equipment and client servers online at all times must be robust, reliable and redundant.

Maxnet has a 2N power supply. This means we have completely separate  'A' and 'B' power supplies into our facility. Each supply has its own independent power supply network (i.e. primary switchboard, sub-boards and cabling) running through our building to the customer's cabinet.  Each supply is feed by its own transformer and  is backed up by independent uninterruptable power supplies (UPS) and three diesel generators.

In our high availability suit, cooling systems are feed off each supply for redundancy purposes.

Centralised UPS

Uninterrupted power supply (UPS) is provided by two totally independent centralised 500kVA Chloride UPS systems that are directly connected into the two independent mains power feeds supplied to the server cabinets. UPS battery cells can be replaced without any disruption to your servers. The UPS equipment is regularly maintained and tested by external specialists.

Auto-start Generators

The Data Centre facility has three backup diesel generators with a total generation capacity of 2MVA. These generators automatically start within seconds in the event of interruption of either of the mains power supplies. The generators are regularly maintained and tested by external specialists.

Please contact us if you have any questions regarding our power and backup infrastructure.
